Located on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast, about 3 miles south of Jaco, Playa Hermosa is one of the top surfing destinations in the country. However, as a result, it can be a dangerous place to swim.
Playa Hermosa has a wildlife refuge that’s a protected area for Olive Ridley Turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. Also nearby are the Manuel Antonio National Park and the Carara National Park, home to monkeys, iguanas, and a large assortment of birds.
It’s location is great, only about a 2-hour drive from San Jose. What can be confusing is that there’s another Playa Hermosa that’s located in the Guanacaste province. This isn’t that one.
There’s a good amount of property for sale in Hermosa, although relatively few condos. In this chart you can see how many of each type of property we surveyed and the total inventory currently listed for each.
